What is the mood of this novel? Do you find this novel saddens you in anyway? Why?

The mood of the novel is very mystical, meaningful is a very sad way. The novel saddens me in a lot of ways. It saddens me by what simply happens in the novel, how Simon was killed, and how Ralph is faced against this evil and persists against it after the rest of the boys try to kill him and Piggy. It is also sad because how it shows the theme. The theme of not to become evil. Basically, the boys become evil by a certain drive inside of them to follow others and follow instincts, when it should be following your heart. They were all blinded by savagery, to have POWER, to be at the top. It saddens me when the naval officer arrives and all the boys start to weep. It is sad when Ralph collapses from his tiredness. It is so sad, because i care for those who care for others. The other boys do not have that heart, or are covered in this savagery. The theme itself is sad, and how symbols can really lead you to your heart, like how Ralph sees the Lord of the Flies. It is like a symbol to him and the reader. It is sad how Piggy gets bossed around. It is generally a very sad story, but in the end it really portrays the theme of good and evil, and how we are all somewhat good; but we can be blinded by evil.
