Are there any settings in this novel which you have found to be beautiful? Or disturbing? Or memorable? Describe these settings and comment on why they were meaningful to you.
The most memorable setting is the climax, when Ralph discovers the lord of the flies and collapses due to fatigue, in the glory of the beautiful sun and water, he sees the officer. It is beautiful because after following his heart the whole way down, he still fails. But then he sees the officer, and in his heart, he has been saved. Himself has been saved and those he cares for have been saved. It is beautiful because they are saved, and this savagery can end. It is so meaningful, and it teaches me to always stand by those i love and what i believe till the very end of everything i do, and everything i do should be what my heart believes is right, not other people being blinded. It teaches me that i should help those who are in need, glorify them so that they may become good, try to wash the dirty evil in which they have been enveloped in. This is the greatest moment in the story, and i was so happy when i read it. It is definately the highlight of the whole entire book, and it kind of summarizes it, and it shows how wonderful Ralph is. I will remember this moment for a very i long time i believe, because it certainly touched me and will touch the way i believe from now on.
